THE SOCCER PITCH

Last night was a great night.. cos last night was probably the very rare times I sat infront of the television at 3 in the morning to watch a soccer match. you guys probably know I never did have such an interest but somehow, the match was too big for me to miss... 2 Giants pitting against each other. And the match was anything BUT boring. I was quite worried it might be a goaless match leaving to the penalties to settle the winner but thankfully that was not to be. I honestly thought the italians played a better game while the germans were just, well, plain rough. But both were aggressive nonetheless. I had hoped italy won anyway..

But last night wasn't great because I watched soccer but it was great night or day over there for the italians cos during the last 2 mins of the 2nd half of extra time, they managed to punch in a goal which was nothing short of spectacular. And another shortly after. It was quite an adrenaline rush really. Cos you were so sure tt it was gonna be on the playin ground of the germans if the match were to go to PK. Esp wif Germany having an outstanding record for PKs while italy had one of the worst (least so the commentator said anyway :p )

I didn't quite intend to blog about my soccer exp but I was reading the newpaper n it lead me back to last night's match and well, somehow, you could feel for the german players. And even germany. I think it's more devastatin for the German team cos they were at home and somehow, you could feel that so much hope is pinned on them to win the world cup. I mean, as 'Fatboy' says, only 2 things can make a man cry. Women and money. And well, there's a 3rd, glory and the loss of it. It was such a mixed feeling sorta event cos on one hand, you're happy the italians got in but on the other, you sorta feel the Germans' pain with them collaspsing on the floor, on their knees, sobbing away.

Anyway, all in all, i enjoyed the match terrifically. I'd stay up for tonight's one, but it took a lot outta me and I think I'm gonna haf an early night to rest my tired eyes man. Finals are on Sunday right? Who's game to go somewhere to watch it? :-D i think I can appreciate the atmosphere :) But only cos it's the world cup. Ask me to do this on a regular basis i tell you, i cna't do it man. :s Just too taxing for me.
