LEAVING OUR MARK IN THIS WORLD/ BEING ACKNOWLEDGED OR KNOWN/ PROOF OF OUR EXISTENCE
I do believe I've talked about this topic briefly once before.
I think everyday of our lives, whether we realise it or not, we seek recognition for our existence in our lives. Even in the simplest of stuff sometimes. The simple need of wanting to talk to someone so as not to be alone is one such act. As I mentioned b4, the need of validation or proof of existence through the eyes of others, or even your significant other.
Cos really, without anyone to remember you, to feel your existence, to acknowledge your presence.... etc.. without any of these, what then, is the purpose of our lives. We say we seek not to be credited. But yet, the end results are the same even tho means might be different... we seek to make our presence felt in this world. Be it through selfless acts or self appreciating ones.
Some of us validate our existence by making an impact in the life of one single individual. Other aim for a greater good and aim to make their mark in this world through charity. And though some insist that so long as their personal goals are fulfilled, it's enough, there's no need for the approval of others. But if without even the acknowledgement of them, then who's going to know... and when you die.. who will know of your achievements. And if no one knows.. then what is the point?
I think many of us fear being forgotten. We need to feel needed, to be desired, to exist. I think for some, the need's more apparant than others. And I guess that's where insecurity starts to build itself. When people fail to supply an individual's need of desired desire.. they feel unbalanced... they're already insecure and somehow, not feeling needed kinda makes insecurity much worst.
But I digress. I wonder.. what's everyone's desire to be remembered or to achieve in their lives? Or as 'The Emperor's Club' Mr Hundret once asked... "What is YOUR contribution to the world?"
For me.. I jus wished to be remembered for my photos. On a personal level? i'm not really sure. I'd liek people to remmeber I was nice and caring. But as time goes by, I wonder how possible is it to maintain that. With all the viciousness at work, some people jsu tend to forget that outside of work, everyone else is a friend.
So yeah.. wad's everyone's desire? Do tell do tell.. :)
