Warning: The following post is a somewhat masturbatory entry which somehow doesn't really serve to benefit anybody but myself. Read on with caution!!!
I reviewed my photos from last week's photo shoot. And I came to realisation that I really really hated full body shots. Or rather, it's something I ain't exactly very good at. Often, I found myself trying to compress a person's body into a frame rather than them standing straight. Often, I found my 'client' telling to shoot the whole body and the problem I found was that my 'set' didn't really have lotsa nice stuff to fill up the negative space and that really disgusted me cos I spent half my time trying to frame out other stuff in the frame. And that really sucked. I didn't have that much time concentrating on other stuff like lighting, shadows, the clothes, poses and other stuff. I realised I was too quick to snap the shutter release and moving on to the next pose rather than analysing everything in the frame. I spent too much time trying to get the right exposure and colour temperature which really spoilt the flow of things. But I guess these are things that would eventually be 2nd nature as I get more experience but I really hated the whole body shot thing. Maybe it's something that'd eventually be my style but hey, it's still early to say what really is my style just yet. We'll see...
