I've always believed that I shoudl at soem point in my life experience my car fish tailing and be able to come out of it fine. It's a strange logic really.

So i've always loved the rain and driving in it cos it's always brought about new adventures and challenges. And also mainly, it reminded me of home.

Last night I was driving back on the 10 heading back home. It was 11 at night on a Sunday. Traffic was good.

I took the 110 to take me to the 5 and then the 2 (i live in eagle rock). Now if anyone who's ever driving on the 110 heading towards Pasadena, you'll recall the link to the 5 will always be backed up. So lo behold, it wasn't. (FYI: THe 5, 2 and 110 freeways or expressways)

Now keeping in mind, I was thinking to myself that I was handling pretty well in the rain and was feeling pretty confident in how my car was handling in the rain.

So I made the left turn to the 5 (if anyone's been on it, it's a rather sharp turn) at what might be 30 maybe? I dunno. But i swear i was doing it right.. and next thing I knew, I felt the car shift a lil followed by a sharp turn and i was like.. oh... Wall... -____-

The next 2 seconds (felt longer though) was the ground vibrating under my car while i struggled to get the car back. I swear I felt my car grinding against the wall. In the midst of all this, I remembered that if my wheels were in one direction, i should try to redirect steering to the opposite.

After maybe 20-30 metres (sorry, still can't figure out the Imperial system of feets), the car finally came to a halt with it being perpendicular to the road which SUCKED! Cos here i was, in the middle of a sharp turn, blocking a lil bit more than a lane of a 2 lane road, with my car stalled. -_____- obviously hazard lights aren't gonna do shit in this situation.....

So i tried restarting my car, bloody hoping no vehicle did the same thing that I did cos the first point of impact is my door. The car doesn't start. N i was like.. oh fuck.... getting out from my door obviously isn't a good idea.. staying in the car isn't smart either. So I tried the ignition again... which obviously failed again. And then I realised, hang on.. car's sitll on DRIVE. Switched it to park .... ( I see headlights.. and a car comes along.. and thankfully manages to pass the front of me fine )..

I start my car back up, do a 3 point to get my car back in the right direction and made my way back home.. freaking praying my car's not too badly damaged cos it'd suck after a $3000 car repair 2 weeks ago.

I gave it a quick look in the rain and it seemed fine when I got back. I jsut got a better look at it and realised there WAS damage but it's not so bad. I'm just glad it's not the body that bore the brunt of the event.
