A mail I sent to the family.Didn't wanna type twice so read and be updated. Figured best i type the mail to them n paste here then the other way round.

"Honestly speaking. i've honestly viewed ONE place. And this is the
one. The reason why I speeded it up is cos it was very very difficult
for me to get even an appointment to view places. There were a couple
lined up but they were over the weekend and in a less than desireable
place. Well, at the border anyway. THIS place is in a really nice
area. Quite rural. And why I say it's very homely and cosy is cos it
has this very classic oldish kinda look to it. Some might call it run
down but I like it cos it's very homely. To me anyway.

Another reason I got it is cos of the price as well as what is
included. $550 which is inclusive of utilities and all. It's tought
ton really find anything in that range. Most decent places go to $700
so this is quite a steal. It's not perfect or my ideal but maybe over
time, I can find a studio apartment for 700 or less. That would be
best.

And no worries, I'm def gettin it. There's no min term of lease. It's
a fair bit to travel but somehow, anywhere I'm gettin seems to be a
fair bit to travel as it is. So yeah. It's a short drive to ameniities
and all that so not a problem there. And again, most importantly, it's
a very very safe neighbourhood.

Anyway, I'm not hoping for this to be a permanent place. I'll still be
on a look out for own apartment with wooden floors. Hate the fact that
the floors are carpeted and everyone wears shoes in the house. Acks.
One of the many difference in cultures.

Alright, it's pretty much confirmed anwyay, just gonna sign the
contract tomorrow. yes yes, I'll read through it and make sure my ass
is covered so don't worry."


I've been having a lot of problems sleeping since i've been here. Of cos, this sorta shit isn't somehting u wanna tell family back home. I mean, i'm like sleeping at 12 and waking up at 2 am in the mornin. It used to be sleep at 12, wake at 4-5 and toss and turn till 7-8. Not fun i tell ya. I used to think tt being an insomniac was cool cos can do things. Now, the thing is, I dont' wanna do anything even tho I know I have things to do cos all I wanna do right now is sleep so tt i can readjust the body's clock.

So I'm kinda using all sorts of stupid silly techniques to put myself to sleep. i'm contemplating alcohol next but I think it's best not to go that path. It's quite irritating cos my mind just keeps ticking non stop the whole night. i'm guesing it's prob kinda stressed from all the things that needs to be done.

But anyway, generally, everything's been kinda fine. The main thing I need to get used to is probably the language, which isn't all that tough. I also need to change the way my sentences come out and make sure they come out proper. Which i really pity the other foreign students cos man, I'm telling you, I sure as hell do not understand AND I constantly wonder if this jap dude i'm talking to is really understanding what I"m saying. Man, good luck to them. But language aside, I think some of their works are really good so let's hope that the language won't be much fo a problem as time goes by.

Driving here's a bitch. I realise I'm not really checkin my rear mirror so much cos I keep thinkin it's on my left. After sometimes, I sarted wonderign why my view of the road is so limited and found out I wasn't really checking the mirrors as much as I was. In the past, I was just able to know if there was a car behind me due to constant checking of the mirror. Now, I can't be entirely sure and haf to turn back to double check. AND when I'm reversing, i keep looking over my damn left shoulder. After sometime, I realise, wtf was i doing? won't i have a clearer view if I looked over my right? Idoit I tell ya. And let's not get started on the parking. Wassup with parking head first man. I tell ya, today I had to practice in the parking area sia. Bloody idiotic.

So yeah, apart from getting used to the rented car i'm driving. It's huge i tell u.. i gotta readjust to the left hand drive as well.

Anyway, things are fine here. And, well, i gotta go study for my test for driving tomorrow.
