For the record. I love Alan Shore of The Practice. He's arguably the best character i've ever come to love. Tho not as extreme, he's come to be someone i can somehow feel for and at times, even relate. I never really understood so much as to what a tragic hero is till he came along. James Spader is really amazing playin Alan Shore. Fantastic. Think he was very deservin of last year's emmy for his performance in The Practice.
