Secret Secret Window DVD
Guess what? I managed to rent Secret Window from Video EZy last night. Amazing isn't it? Apparantly, they had imported it from Canada and I wonder if this is actually allowed. Hell, I'm not complainin and I def am darn happy to have gotten it on dvd cos it was quite a smart show. Why I say smart? you gotta figure that out when you watch it. And I must say, having tried my hand at writing scripts and nit picking it for my specialist, i somehow become so irritatingly intuned with the writing aspect of the film. Not that I'm gonna be or am a good writer, but it just makes me appreciate that aspect of a film more.

The film seems somewhat B grade-ish but with a star like Johnny Depp, it really brings the movie to life. Kym had said before, something along the lines of, directors liking those actors who kinda bother along the edge or something like tt. People like Marlon Brando, or Robert DeNiro (I think). *Disclaimer: I hope I ain't misquoting but if I am, please correct me. I feel that these people sometimes are a lil off but yet, that bit of them gives them the "opmh" that a film needs. They have no inhibitions (I wouldn't expect any to have any in the first place) and it makes it so amazing because of their eccentric and erratic behaviour, it somehow shows in films and at the same time, it's somehow part of them.

Anyway, Johnny Depp was fantastic in Secret Window, besides the star appeal of course (Amy going ohhh ahhh over him.) It's an intriguing storyline so watch it if you like psychological thrillers cos this one has an interesting ending that will be go "so....."

Convocation
Realised I didn't really mention anything about Amy's convocation. Quite boring really. Watching 800 over people whom u don't know, collecting their darn certs when you're just there for one. Pretty sure someone might not be too happy that I missed his class. Anyhoo... the convo did haf some highlights like the goofy hats them prof or whatever had to wear. Kinda those floppy flappy hats that those artists in paris wear I reckon. Anyway, it was quite goofy. But, the robe was pretty interesting. Anyway, I was there just to take photos. Realised how great it would be to have a telephoto lens, to take people's expressions when they don't know it rather than I either take them when they know and get uncomfy, or, i get it but it's so darn small. Anyway, took lotsa photos at the convo for Amy. She even took with the Min. of Edu, Sun-somethign sometihng. Tall indian dude. Was quite ok.

Had an interesting afternoon hanging out with Amy, Andy (Amy's NIE friend), and her 2 elder sisters. I must somehow thank Andy for lightening up the mood cos he sorta made me more comfy with Amy's sisters which I had initially found difficult to get close to. Anyway, we went to Sakae Sushi and funny andy ordered that egg thingy for all 5 of us which I had to eat 1 and half of and AMy's sister was like saying high cholestrol and what not. Anyway, we didn't really eat much but when it came to payin, I felt bad cos I was in no position to do so cos this sod hasn't got no job yet and somehow, I felt inappropriate to do so. Anyway, realised that's the thing about me anyway. Kinda dun really go all out to help people unless they're close to me. Like the one time, Irna had no money to go home. I'd rather lent her money to take a cab then send her cos I was too darn lazy. Boon Lay leh. But Kenny was nice enough to send her anyway. Anyhoo... hope no one takes it too personally.

Anyway, played pool wif Andy and Jenny (Amy's big sis). Once again, Andy did it again. I felt that a few times, he could've won but chose to not win too big like letting me pot a few balls first before wrapping up the game. Hey, gentlemently of him. Didn't make it easy for me when I tried to lose (poor job at it) but eventually won Amy's sis and Andy was like "Wah, big sis oso dare to win" :p Haiz, felt bad.

Anyway after that Andy dropped me and Amy at lucky after he had sent the 2 sisters home and we went for movie and the rest you guys know.
