Hey all.....
Good news on the ipod... Status for it now is that It's awaiting for a new part or a new unit... Wadeva it is... Hope it's a new unit :) It's due for collection on Sat. So.... hope things go well.
last nite, watched a screening of The Last Life in the Universe by Thai director Pe-nak. Was pretty cool... It's a show about life, death and lotsa stuff junked into one. It's pretty cool. i can't say it's understandable all the time. WHich is why the dialogue session with the director was fantastic was pretty kool cause kinda gave us an insight into the film from his side. Which some may feel it shouldn't be cause a film's suppose to be self explanatory or shouldn't require the creator to explain cos it's not always that people have such a luxury. It's not like he explained some of the unclarities (if sucha word?) but rather made me think a lil more of the film after he explained some of his intentions which was kinda fantastic. Almost every part of his film has a reason...
Kinda feel that Singapore has a screwy system at times. You know, with SIngapore focusing a lil more on sports by having a sports school, I realise tt despite them wanting to promote the arts, they have not made any efforts in cultivating art but rather promoting it more. Do you see the government having an "arts" version of a sports school? NO!!! At first, I was thinking that Singapore's system has no room for the arts simply because of one statement which Pe-nak made. He took a year off to create his film but can anyone imagining themself taking a year off to do anything? It's not possible. And I started thinking about the school cirriculum (or cirricilum?). I feel that we are all trained to do things in an intensive and competitive way. Who ever stops to think that work is of standard? Most people's concern is that they get the thing on time and that it is a decent piece of work. Difference is how much one puts in for the work. Sometimes, I wished I had the time to just do things at my own pace and create something that didn't need to be rushed and can be completed and validated when I feel that it is ready to be validated. But how many of us can safely say we can do that?
But I guess the mentality is that when one can do something good in a short period of time then when given a longer time, one would be able to produce a better piece of work. I can't say that's not true but somehow, the works I churn out just doesn't haf the right feel for me. Haiz, mayb i leave too many things at the last minute and end up giving half past six work...
Moving on... last night, due to some reason, amy crashed over. So she kinda slept through the morning while I went to school. Then we spent a bo liao noon watching tv and playing neo pets. :p Supposed to go down Reel loco but didn't expect dad to freakin play golf in the night. Now gotta go Reel loco in the god damn sun tomorrow. SObz....
Dunno how my weekend's gonna be... See how things go. How are the guys? How's the first week of skool for the NTUs? Jope leh? Sound like u're dying as always. Hmm.... Jos leh?
Anyway, keep me posted k? Take care you guys. And min mei, thanx for the ass... :)
